Panoramic
Corporation located in Fort Wayne, Indiana was formed in 1986 to design,
manufacture, and market a panoramic X-ray machine for the domestic
dental market. The Company has been extremely successful, because of the
PC-1000’s high quality, low production-cost and competitive price.
Panoramic Corporation has captured and retained almost 30% of the
domestic panoramic X-ray market, making it the market share leader in
the United States.
Panoramic has contracted with over three hundred independent
installation and service organizations throughout the U.S. and Canada
who have been trained in all aspects of the service and installation of
the Company’s products. Panoramic also has in-house X-ray specialists;
approximately 75 - 80% of all service problems can be successfully
resolved over the phone. All installation and service efforts are
supported by detailed videos and training manuals.
PRODUCTS
Panoramic’s principle product is the PC-1000. The PC-1000 is a fully
equipped panoramic X-ray machine which produces a high quality image of
the entire dental arch. All teeth, the entire mandible, both
temporomandibular joints and the lower maxillary sinuses are seen on one
resulting X-ray film. A single exposure from the PC-1000 lasts only 12
seconds, resulting in far less radiation exposure when compared to the
traditional intraoral X-ray machines. Panoramic offers the only
panoramic X-ray machine that is shipped essentially fully assembled. The
machine requires a few hours to install versus one or two days for most
competitors’ machines.
In 1990,
Panoramic introduced its Laser 1000 cephalometric X-ray system.
Cephalometric radiographs show the exact relationship of various
anatomical reference points of the patient’s anterior skull profile.
General dentists and orthodontists use these calculations to locate and
predict the movement of teeth in order to fit braces and other
orthodontia. Oral surgeons use cephalometric X-rays to detect pathology
and also to determine bone and teeth alignment before and after surgery.
The Laser 1000 is also the only system that utilizes a laser beam for
exact X-ray field alignment before exposure.
The
Company offers their customers dental X-ray supplies including film,
film cassettes and intensifying screens, processing chemicals and
darkroom supplies. These products are also marketed by catalog to the
general dental and medical community.
